Oak forests, mixed oak and conifer forests and mixed oak, pine woodlands and madroño forests in the Mesa del Sur of Oaxaca, only in the Sierra de Juárez.
No data available cause this species does not occur in the hobby.
Observed heights where the species is found were between 2195 and 2743 meters.
Named after Charles M. Bogert (1908 – 1992), former curator of the herpetology department of the American Museum of Natural History.
