This specimen was found in a small drinking pool for cattle. Here they also found Hypopachus barberi and Exerodonta catracha.
This male Thamnophis fulvus was pretty defensive, but they are in fact always like this when they are caught, according to the person who found it. They also caught a female specimen there and she ate so many frogs that she could hardly move. Both animals were found next to a pool that was filled with small, mating frogs.
The two frog species shown below are, in this area, an important part of the food of Thamnophis fulvus.
